Bali

Overview

Bali is an Indonesian island and province in the Lesser Sunda Islands, located just east of Java (separated by the Bali Strait). The province also includes nearby smaller islands like Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan.

Bali is widely known for a distinctive culture shaped by Balinese Hindu traditions, plus a landscape of beaches, rice terraces, and volcanic mountains. A standout heritage feature is Bali’s Subak (traditional irrigation + water temple network), recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape.
